Have you ever thought to yourself, 'I just don't have the gift of evangelism'? Or maybe this, you saw an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus and then you back out because you were afraid. I know I have done both, and I wish I hadn't. You've heard it said that Jesus needs to be Number One in your life. I know that hasn't always been the case in my life. I think one way we can put God at Number One is by spreading the incredible Gospel. Telling people about our amazing Savior and friend Jesus Christ, who died to take away the sin's of the world and restore the relationship that was broken.
I was listening to this guy (he's famous for some reason or another but I have no idea who he is, so we'll call him Ziggy just for fun), and he was given a Bible by a believer. Ziggy explained what he really like about this guy was his kindness towards him, how he really wasn't all up in his face beating him in the head with the Bible or anything but really just showing kindness to him while sharing the Gospel. But then Ziggy said something that really hit me. He said, "If you truly believe that there's a God and that if someone doesn't put their faith in this God, that that person will spend eternity in Hell, you must really hate someone not to tell them that." (not word for word, but you get the main idea). So I guess the question is, do you hate somebody so much that you would want them to spend eternity in Hell? If you loved them, you would share the good news about our savior, Jesus.
Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' ~Matthew 22:37-39
And again... I'm not a writer, just a thinker.
